Week 4 Studs and Duds

I don’t know about you, but holy BLEEP! 9 sacks in one half is ridiculous. If I was Cutler, even if I didn’t get hurt, I would have faked an injury and gotten out of there as fast as possible. He was my ultimate dud of this week. Michael Vick was my starter, and he actually scored more than Cutler.

I formed this list by not only listing who did extremely well or terrible, but who outperformed and underperformed what they were supposed to do. Anyways, enjoy the list and add if you think I forgot someone.

Studs
Arian Foster
Ahmad Bradshaw
Maurice Jones-Drew
Zach Miller
Antonio Gates
LaDainian Tomlinson
Mike Tolbert
Eddie Royal
Kyle Orton
Calvin Johnson
Reggie Wayne
Rashard Mendenhall
Peyton Manning
Terrell Owens
Joesph Addai
Peyton Hillis
LeSean McCoy
Carson Palmer
Green Bay Defense
Matt Prater

Duds
Chris Johnson
Jay Cutler
Louis Murphy
Indianapolis Colts
Jeremy Maclin
Laurence Maroney
Beanie Wells
Steve Smith (Both)
Matt Forte
Michael Vick
Owen Daniels
Eli Manning

Best Of One Extra Yard, Week 4

Yes, Week 4 technically isn’t over in NFL terms, but in blog terms, this is a brand new week. I thought I would go back and pull the best from the inaugural week. Unfortunately, 9 or so comments and 1 email from readers isn’t good enough! Remember, the more you participate with me, the better the overall experience will be. Oh well, enough begging from me. Here it is:

“Enjoying actually seeing the field for significant time, BenJarvus Green-Ellis makes sure Fred Taylor doesn’t see the field soon by hiring an ex-teammate from Ole Miss to crash a SUV into Taylor’s Mercedes. The injuries to Taylor are currently unknown and the Patriots aren’t letting any information out. When confronted by a Boston reporter at his home late Friday night, Green-Ellis gave the middle finger to the camera and walked into his home.”

“Leo Says:
Some of my Week 4 sleepers:
Jacoby Jones
Chad Ochocinco
Malcom Floyd
Nate Washington
John Carlson”
(And still sleeping…to be fair, some others he said were correct)

“Rob Says: Does that make Shonn Greene the exception? He played great in the playoffs last season and now he’s killing most of my fantasy teams.”
(Comment to “Rookie Mistake.” Got to love when someone wants to make me look bad. Greene did pretty well Sunday didn’t he?

“Carpet Doughnut Says: it’s you’re not your.”
(I get it, my grammar is horrible. Get over it!)

“FantasyFBguru Says: Not a bad gig u got going here, you should get something for advice for who to start in your roster each week so people can ask questions.”
(I love compliments! I want the forum to turn into a place where people can ask me questions, and ask each other.)

“Week 4 QB Rankings:
1. Michael Vick ATL
2. Aaron Rogers GB
3. Philip Rivers SD
4. Matt Schaub HOU
5. Peyton Manning IND
6. Tom Brady NE”
(Number 1 hurts. Lady luck doesn’t like me making predictions apparently.)

There you have it. Lets get the second week of One Extra yard off to bang!

One Extra Yard: Now On Twitter

Bet you didn’t think it could get any better huh?  Now One Extra Yard blog has a twitter account and plans on using it!  On the right side of the screen, you can see the last 5 tweets from my account.  Starting next week, I am going to start using it heavily during games to update big plays.  I will also use it to bring news and announcements of important posts.  Twitter.com/OneExtraYard is your link to everything important.

Game Day Is Here

Sunday has finally arrived, as my readers and I get to spend our first one together.  It’s almost like a couple’s first Christmas together isn’t it?  Though no one has used the forum yet, it would be the perfect place to discuss the day’s events and meet huge fantasy fans alike.  Also, I am going to put together a “Best Of Week 4” post tomorrow with parts of my best posts along with your best comments and emails.

As I said previously, up until game time, I will update my All-Mighty Injury List.  Make sure you check back frequently to see if you need to change any roster sports at the last minute.  Otherwise, I am going to be quieter than normal to let people finish up on their own team and watch football.

Another note that I thought was important.  This is the fifth full day this site will be up and yesterday was the first day to break the 100 view mark.  Also, I finally got a couple hits from people using Google to look up football information.  All of this is great news, and I thank all my readers immensely!

Hang the tinsel; put up the lights; bake the cookies (chips and salsa will do); get the family together.  It is time to spend your first games with One Extra Yard!

Donald Brown Out For The Colts

Okay so I lied. Yet another post after I said I was going to take a break the rest of the day. NFL.com reporting, just a few minutes ago, that Colts’ backup RB Donald Brown is out this week. This should mean a few more rushes for Addai, though not enough to make much of a difference in fantasy. Also, Mike Hart, former Michigan RB, will likely get the work when Addai goes out for a breathier. I wouldn’t even recommend Hart for 16 team leagues.

It’s Your Time To Shine

My fingers are getting tired with all the posts and advertising I have done over the last few days. I’ll be honest, I didn’t think it was going to be this hard to drive traffic. I thought I would take a little bit of a break the rest of the day and get your opinions. I want to hear your fantasy football picks of the week! Let me know who will do a lot better than everyone else thinks. Share who is going to score above and beyond what they have ever done in the past. Make a bold fantasy prediction and flex your muscles after it happens. Leave your picks as comments. Good Luck!
